President Trump plans to cut-off the funds given to these sanctuary cities. However, this proposed solution could probe some serious impact to other segments of the government.
Another issue common to the Americans is the health crisis regarding the Zika virus. This is originated from a virus transmitted by mosquitoes that can cause newborn babies to have abnormal brain development. In the year January 2015 to March 2017, five thousand cases were reported in the United States. Despite the figures rising up, health organizations couldn’t respond as efficiently as they would want to due to the lack of resources and aid from the government. Despite the initial lack of assistance from the administration, some companies take part in creating a possible cure that may limit the rise of infected patients. A biotech company created a genetically modified male mosquito that can mate with a female mosquito. This, in turn, will create offsprings that will not be able to carry and transmit the virus. Even if this issue has been demoted from global alert to public health alert, the World Health Organization still considers the Zika virus as one of the top health concern in different parts of the country.
Besides health and economic concerns, the country considers foster care for children as a prevalent issue. Five hundred thousand children are in the foster care. The problem with this is that a huge percentage of this figure remains in the institution and grow old without having permanent families. Some may even consider foster homes as a hostile environment given how abuses and instability have become a part of it.
